How long does it take to learn to stop hockey skating?
I am 20 years old, played professional inline hockey (who pay nothing, except to assume the rights), but I'm looking to play college ice. I have a great shot / stickhandling / go / when skating speed / ability to throw weight around / and know how to be a leader and all that good stuff. I know a lot about hockey, though I have much experience more than picking up games in the local track. I have a lot of difficulties trasitioning line when it comes to ice hockey stop / Sharp Turning / crossover / skating back / and transition. These are huge aspects of the game and I just want answers from experienced players. I'm taking some clinics for adults, but I having problems with detention / Sharp Turing, etc., how long will take to learn? How long did it take?
Sincerely, I do not know the answer to your questions I've been skating, because I feel was three but I know that once someone showed me that I took some practice ... and btw this might be a good way to stop practice to get form below ... and when hockey or youre supposed to stop having two runners in the parallel sheets ice ... (Some people, as Devoloped going to change that) my suggestion is that you can try to skate on the edge of the ice and then when u get used to add your i foot second also suggest that you do this fairly slowly =] Hope this helps
