If older people "dress her age"?
I'm in my 50 years. I dress very casual for work and social events, usually Aloha shirt, Dockers, and flip-flops. On weekends, I wear shorts, t-shirt or wife-beater "shirt, flip-flops, and a visor or hat safari. Often, an old shirt over it for sun protection, or a ragged sweatshirt in cold weather. I can act very responsibly as an adult when the situation requires, but usually just do not give a sh! t if people think I'm a rich white guy or a bum. Friends my age talk about how society is by the toilet, with young people who have no respect for rules or authority figures. I myself have noticed it is harder to have a cop seriously when in shorts and biking, as they do on the beach. Look at old movies from the 30s through the 60s, all the men in suits and women dresses. Do you think people, especially middle-aged people should dress up more?
One must dress for the occasion. If we have to be taken seriously at work, or show respect to someone at a social function, then we dress accordingly. However, in the yard or at the supermarket, who cares? Use what you want. We are what we are. Aging hippie matron, with her grandchildren, grandmother busy taking care of grandchildren, grandfather retired with time on their hands, never mind. My rule is to ensure that any body part that do not look 30 years and should be covered and kept covered, LOL.
