How to fix a surfboard delaminated?
I have a longboard 9 feet 6 inches, which has a top belt. The stringer is good and the glass it is not broke, it just delaming when Flex was the point when a wave broke over him. Can I fill the position under the glass with resin? The damage does not appear be getting worse, but I fear that time is losing its watertight integrity and I will have more problems with the cover up elsewhere.
That's hard. The only way I know is to remove the resin and glazing that has delaminated. Make a hole in the lift area, then use wire cutters and remove areas that were separated from the foam. Sand glass and resin around the exposed area and add another layer of new sand glass resin and then with no problems. If the foam is damaged below, you may want to remove some of them and fill with some replacement foam material before applying the glass. A difficlut but feasible task.
