Roller Derby does not have a place for me?
In recent weeks, I developed a great interest in the Roller Derby. I am a pretty skater decent, I used to go to the rink all the time when I was younger and I would train to be on a team someday. The thing is ... I'm 5'4''y only 125 pounds. I have a very good pain tolerance, but I'm not invulnerable, you know? Roller Derby Is a place for a small skater like me?
You have to think that many women entered in the derby (jammer not included) are on the largest side: buff tall, heavy and angry as hell, which is probably why you 2nd guess yourself. But we must also think about their own size and what different types of locks and techniques can help bring to the table with their smaller stature: Because you're short, covers much more in bulk. Example? You can take these women down in the hip or thigh (both legal areas) where most women can not bend so far .. not easy for them, which also means it is not easy for them to hit as well! It also helps him with his jaw is easier for you because you can balance and redistribute weight easier than higher most women can. Another benefit: His skating is so easy for you: Taller women have to bend and crouch to get a super low fitness skating. Short, girls just need to squat a little to get a good shape. It is also widely known in the derby that the shorter, the better balance can be achieved, especially on curves. I have not even discussed the benefits of being a little disturbing! There are even more benefits for this position even hidden, squirrels can reach moves to get past blockers and hiding behind his big blockers to sneak past the opposition pack! I hope this all makes sense ... No one is indestructible ... But half of being a good (and average) player derby is all about your mentality.
